Cooperation with the Perkins company
Companies IMT and Perkins have been cooperating successfully for many years and the result is a large number of Parkins engines installed in IMT tractors. Engines with 3 (three), 4 (four) and 6 (six) cillindres of the previous generation were installed, and they are as follows:
- Perkins D3.152
- Perkins T3.152
- Perkins A4.248
- Perkins 4.236
- Perkins T4.236
- Perkins 6.354.4
- Perkins T6.354.4
- Perkins 1006-6T

In March 2005 IMT and Perkins agreed on installing engines with 3 (three) and 4 (four) cillindres of the new generation (Perkins 1100). Also, long-term cooperation on installing engines in IMT tractors which comply with the 2000/25/EC directive on emission was agreed upon. As a result of mutual effort, installation of Perkins engines 1103C-33 (Stage 2) of 39,5 kW (which was type-approved by the 2003/37/EC directive in November 2007) in tractor IMT 550.10 was started. Installation of Perkins 1103D-33 (Stage 3 A) of 36,9 kW engine started in the same type of tractor (IMT 550.11) by the end of year 2008. The same engine was installed in tractor IMT 2050.
Specifications for the four-cillinder engine Perkins 1104-44T (Stage 3 A) of 60,5 kW and 72,5 kW for tractors IMT 2080 abd IMT 2090 were also agreed upon, which are in the stage of preparation for type approval in accordance with the 2003/37/EC directive.
A good example of successful cooperation between IMT and Perkins is the joint presentation on the agricultural fair in Novi Sad in 2010, where mass production tractor types with Perkins engines with 3 (three) and 4 (four) cillindres, engines which are installed now and which will be installed in future types of tractors, were exhibited.
Good partners are the key to success.
